My Blogging Goals for 2016
I’m excited to share a little bit of my plans for this online space for 2016. First off, I want to start by saying thank you all for sticking around and reading along with me! Your support has made blogging such a rewarding experience and I hope to continue fueling our creativity in the new year in a variety of ways. Here are some of my blog goals for this year.
1. Truly define my focus and vision.
I feel like I’m at a point in my blogging life where I need to concentrate on developing my vision and niche for my blog. Back in the summer last year, my blog experienced much growth, in terms of traffic, creative ideas, my posts and motivation. However, I think I need to dig a little deeper and think long-term. The posts that receive the most traffic on my site are my college life posts. While I really love sharing these posts, it’s hard for me to relate to the college lifestyle anymore now that I’ve graduated. In some way, feel at a crossroads with my blog, but I’m excited to take a step back and define my focus–and make it more evergreen. The rest of my blog goals stem from this first one, of course. But I don’t want vision planning to get in the way of action and actually doing things. Making goals happen. There will be some exciting things for you all, my readers, in the year to come, as I develop my vision!
2. Launch an email newsletter.
I’ve been wanting to do this for months. It’s one of the first things I want to implement in 2016. It’s still in the works, but I hope to bring it to life soon!
3. Practice my web development skills and give my blog a facelift.
It’s time for an updated site design around here! I’m excited to begin this process and practice my coding skills. I hope I can complete my first custom Genesis theme for WordPress!
4. Create bright collaborations and interactions with my blog community and people in my field.
This can happen in many forms, but I think it’s hard to cultivate the one-on-one relationships with bloggers especially in this digital environment. I hope to grow this and truly connect with more bloggers this year. Perhaps this could mean attending a conference or meeting new bloggers in my area. And of course, cultivating community through blog posts, Twitter, Instagram and more! You all are my people and I’m excited to live a bright 2016 side by side!
