This year, I have a variety of work goals, life goals and fun goals to kickstart the fall season. Time to get into work mode, right? I have been getting very busy with lots of projects flooding my mind for my classes and outside activities. Many of them can relate back to this blog, which makes me very excited! To organize myself, I’ve come up with a list of some goals to focus my energy this semester.
1. Complete 3 web projects for my portfolio.
I am excited to be a digital/web production manager for a student-run agency on campus, and I’m looking forward to gaining more experience with web development. This may be an area I want to pursue professionally in the future or at least gain more experience in as I find coding so fascinating! I can’t wait to learn more about it!
2. Finish 50% of my Senior Year Bucket List.
I will be posting my Senior Year Bucket List very soon! I hope to get lots of it done–I can already cross off at least two items!
3. Update my resume and online portfolio.
After studying abroad, working this summer and getting back into my activities and roles here on campus, my resume and portfolio ready for a makeover!
4. Research grad schools, places to work and other options for after graduation.
Resume updating comes along with this process as well, to research my plans for next semester and see what my options are and what I am called to do.
5. Schedule a time to take the GRE and study!
If I want to apply to grad school, I will need to take the GRE, which I haven’t looked into a lot yet. I will need to act upon this very soon, though!
6. Make a pumpkin recipe.
Preferably pumpkin pie, but I am also open to other ideas! Pumpkins in the fall = love!
7. Blog at least twice a week.
I hope to keep up blogging this semester, unlike previous semesters in college. Blogging has been such a community and such a learning experience that it’s hard to balance with school sometimes, which also takes priority. But I have found that I identify so much with being a blogger that I really want to pursue this space and this art.
8. Do something I have never done before.
I’m thinking a hot air balloon ride. There’s a North Carolina Balloon Festival coming up that I may or may not attend. We’ll see!
9. Have a social media free day afternoon/evening at least once a week.
I started this accidentally last week, but I hope to continue to have a phone/internet/computer fast for an extended period of time at least one of week. Making time to disconnect is important to our wellbeing and our creativity, so I hope to foster this more.
10. Meet new people and underclassmen on my campus.
I hope to have a very fun senior year, but also meet new people who still have some more time on campus than I do. I would love to reach out to them more and truly get to know more people on my campus. Be a neighbor. Be a friend to the people who call my school home.
Ten goals. Ten opportunities to make the most of this fall semester. I can already tell that this semester will be great, as my roommates and I just spent the entire evening last night laughing hysterically at funny commercials, old memories from freshman year classes and typos from emails. Talking with them has encouraged me to absorb everything I can this semester and chase after those one-time opportunities. We can accomplish what we set our minds and hearts to do if we go after our dreams with soul, spirit and love.
Now, you tell me: did you make goals for this month or this fall?
