A large portion of my diet consists of different types of fruits. Of course, it depends on which fruits are in season. But my favorite thing is to make a huge fruit salad for breakfast everyday. I’ve been mixing one apple, one banana, a couple strawberries and a handful of blueberries along with some granola to make my breakfast in the morning. It has been a relaxing way to start off the day: cutting fruit and making a big salad.
For dinner, I make a lettuce salad every night with some fruit on top. I sandwich my day with salads: fruit and veggie ones. I just started getting in the habit of eating salads this summer. It’s been awesome to train myself to like eating raw veggies. As far as other foods, I’ve been loving almond butter with fruit, anything with zucchini and pasta. I’ve also started adding chia seeds to things like smoothies and salads!

For me, I think fruit and salads are the perfect thing to have on hand while living in a college apartment. It’s fast food and doesn’t require too much cooking, if any! They are perfect to combine with other quick and easy meal ideas. While I don’t eat healthy all the time or have time to cook on my own during college, I love doing it and trying to focus on the right things to put in my body to keep me going!
