Nothing is better than decorating your dorm or apartment to make it reflect your personality and feel more like home. I love looking at DIY decorations to spice up the walls of a room. But sometimes, I look to see what is in my crafting collection first and try to get creative with the items I have on hand.
My sophomore year of college, I found all my old tropical island calendars and decided to create a wall of travel inspiration. All the photos made my walls pop, and I loved the look and feel it added to my room. You can make your own, too with just a few steps!
How to Make an Inspiration Wall:
What You’ll Need: a variety of calendars, scissors, and tape
- Pick out a theme of calendars like travel, flowers, people, or places.
- Find a wall to cover with your calendar photos. I chose a smaller wall to be an accent wall in my dorm room.
- Experiment with the sizing of your photos. Make sure they are all the same height, cutting some photos shorter to make all the photos evenly lined and spaced.
- Tape the calendars to the wall! I tried to alternative photos that had different dominant colors to make it feel more balanced.
And that’s it! I hoped you found a way to make your space in college more exciting and fun to decorate!
How do you decorate your room in college or your apartment/house right now?
