It’s no secret that I have been obsessed with OneRepublic and American Authors lately (See my summer melodies post and my May favorites). But, my obsession took on a new level when I went to see them on tour last Friday in Bristow, Virginia.
OneRepublic performed songs from their latest album, Native, alongside the bands, The Script, and American Authors, who opened the show.
My friend Amanda and I bought our tickets a couple months ago, and we were so excited to pack a picnic and get our seats for the concert. This has been the first concert I’ve gone to in forever! And the first one I planned on my own. The night was so much fun, hearing some of my favorite songs and learning some new ones.
American Authors opened the show with six awesome songs. I feel like I was the only one who knew them all, since the crowd wasn’t as excited as they were for OneRepublic. I would have been on my feet jamming, but everyone was sitting down, relaxing. I love all their music, though, and decided to buy an American Authors tank top after they preformed!
OneRepublic attracted such a diverse crowd of people. We sat next to a son with his mom, in front of a family of with two adorable young daughters, next to a family with all their kids, some older couples and some teenagers and young adults. It was such an interesting atmosphere!
One of the best parts of the show was the stage design and lighting. OneRepublic puts on an amazing show. I love the graphics of this album, Native, and I love the whole earthy, summery vibe of the videos, stage design and lighting.
A couple of my favorite songs they performed were “I Lived,” “Counting Stars,” “Something I Need,” “Light it Up” and “Good Life.” Overall, it was such a fun summer night and the best part was sharing it all with one of my sweet friends.
How have you spent your summer nights? Have you been to a summer concert?
