This Christmas was full of relaxing with family and taking in all the blessings the Lord has provided all around us. We went to a Christmas Eve service with family, saw a couple of friends and then came back to our house to gather with extended family. We had a dinner full of yummy snacks and appetizers–a good variety of things! Then, my little cousin and I danced around our living room to Christmas carols and laughed and played. Then came time for presents with my aunt, uncle, and cousins.
And because it’s Jesus’ birthday of course, we sung “Happy Birthday” with a candle on a Christmas cookie!
Christmas morning came after lots of sleeping in. My family had a breakfast feast complete with apple butter and biscuits. We opened presents, cooked lasagna, watched basketball, played games and watched movies. It was pure relaxation and joy just spending the day with my family I love.
Even though Christmas comes once a year, the feeling and the celebration should occur throughout the whole year–isn’t that what Christmas is about? Let’s continue celebrating Christmas! Because the good news is that Jesus wants a relationship with us all the time. Not just for a season–but everyday, every moment and every second. It’s so amazing to think about that. I’m finding peace and encouragement that the light of the world wants to know me and you.
I also can’t wait to hear about your Christmas traditions! I hope you all had a Christ-filled day with family and friends with lots of love and joy!
