My first apartment + my first car = my first trip to the grocery store!
This year I am cooking most of my meals in my apartment. Instead of having a meal plan, I decided to save money and cook on my own.
It has its positives and negatives. But I am enjoying shopping on my own for food now. This haul was from last week, and now I’m in dire need to stock up on some more fruit and veggies.
My groceries included: bananas, whole grain pasta, Alfredo sauce, broccoli, apples, peaches, raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing, a superfood blend of spinach and kale, a bag of frozen grilled chicken strips and some sliced zucchini.
I have learned so far that when trying new food: you are going to like some at times and other times you might not like what you buy. For example, I think I’m going to stick with just spinach or romaine lettuce for salads and a caesar or Italian dressing.
I have also learned that I like to make meals quickly, so having foods I can easily grab are good options for me!
For this week, I still have to make my grocery list, (based on my college grocery list I created here!) but I’m excited to see what I find and I’m excited to maybe cook some recipes I’ve found on Pinterest and other places.
Do any of you have cooking advice? For this somewhat clueless college student? :)
