Why, hello, friends! Long time no real chat.
I’m loving the beginning of fall: I’m already excited for everything pumpkin, scarves, boots and the chilly atmosphere. I’ve been eating apples and buying sweaters. It’s wonderful.
Today I have some autumn updates.
Let me preface this with that so many things have been going on for my junior year of college. Life is so crazy and it is beyond a miracle that I am able to sit down and blog right now. I always value down time and reflecting on my days, so blogging is important to me, and I am hoping to make more time for it this year than last year.
So why has my life been busy? Let me break it down in bullet form, starting with my classes!
Classes for Junior Year:
2) Spanish Phonetics: This is my hardest class and my easiest class at the same time. I really don’t understand it. I don’t have a lot of work for it, but at the same time, it’s so hard to pronounce Spanish words correctly. It’s hard to talk in Spanish for me–I prefer writing and reading, but I am hoping to improve so speaking in Spain will be easier.
3) Communication Research: This is an okay class. Sometimes it’s boring, and I have a 30-page report to write this week, so that’s not too exciting. But I guess I’m learning some good research skills.
4) Strategic Writing: This class is my second favorite! My professor is awesome and she makes class interesting. We’ve also had some great guest speakers. For this class, we are working with real clients and building a writing portfolio, so this is great experience! It’s some extra time and effort because we have to coordinate with our client and do work that they need, but it’s awesome that we can to do real client work for class.
Those are my classes for this fall! I’m also interning at a church three days a week. There, I work on graphic design projects and edit videos. It’s a little stressful sometimes, but I’m learning. It takes up a lot of my time, and although it’s hard to balance, everyone at the church is nice and it’s also fulfilling some of my internship requirements for school.
I’m also in the process of getting my visa for studying abroad–I am officially accepted to study abroad in Spain next year! I also have to attend a lot of meetings and orientations, but it’s been so exciting to get all the information and realize that this is finally happening. I can’t believe it.
And I’ve been doing a lot of work for my sorority and having fun with my sisters. They’ve been great. It’s so awesome to have a support system during a stressful time of life.
While that barely scratches the surface of all my updates, it will do for now! That’s what autumn has brought me so far. I’ll expand more on these topics soon. Let me know if you want to hear more about anything! Thanks friends for listening and stopping by my blog!
