I was right: Web Publishing is my favorite class this semester. If not one of my favorite classes so far in college.
We have been learning HTML, CSS and web design principles and theories. We’ve been writing blog posts (which I obviously know nothing about :)) and talking about some cool articles.
But what I’ve also been doing is obsessing over some amazing web designs. Feast your eyes.
Duoh! was the first that caught my eye. I love the patterns, the colors and the way the background becomes part of the foreground (you can see this more clearly by going to the site and scrolling down the page). The page’s content also gave me a better idea about the web publishing and design industry.
I love the simplicity of the layout in Fresh Notes and the dominant elements it has. The design matches the content. It has such a crafty, fun and cute personality while at the same time portrays innovation and credibility.
Kathryn Cornelius has an amazing home page to her portfolio! Can we talk about how insanely cute, creative and artsy this is?! I love the use of gray to give a sleek, clean feel yet the main graphic gives it a homey feel. She encompassed her personality really well in an attractive design. I might steal a couple of ideas from this site if I ever get the chance.
What has been inspiring your work lately?
