Good marvelous Monday morning!
Today is my last true day of summer, as I prepare for classes tomorrow and get ready for the semester. Last Friday I moved back to school and that means I also moved into my new apartment!
This past weekend has been full of seeing friends, settling in and procrastinating on finishing my summer to-do list.
I remembered what it was like to go to school in the South–with weekends exploring new small towns with awesome people and watching sunsets over the trees.
Besides seeing friends and everything, though, apartment life is a little weird. But it’s nice. It’s weird to have a kitchen, to cook my own dinner, to live close to my classes, and to schedule chores among roommates. It’s a transition, but so far I love having the extra space, I love the location and the food has been good!
This is part of our living room! It still needs more decorations, but we added a couple more chairs for more seating space. I’m loving the pillows on the couch my friend bought and the mirrors that were there already!
And my first breakfast in my apartment! It’s also my absolute favorite breakfast right now, featuring Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal. So good. Mmmm.
This morning I’m off to buy some cookies to bring to a dinner tonight and to get some work done for this semester. I’m becoming a busy, busy bee. But these past few days without classes have been beautiful. It feels great to take your time with everything and really sit down and talk to people. Catch up, relish in the moment and be spontaneous.
I think I’m going to apply that mindset to school this year. Even when life gets busy, find time to take your time. Find time to breathe.
